So, according to this person here, who met John Barrowman at a con, Captain Jack is definitely confirmed for Doctor Who S3, having signed the contract and all.

Filming clashes, as far as I can tell. There's now a whole bunch of people trying to work out how many and which episodes he'll be in. (You know what'd be really evil? Saying he's in the series, and not telling us when)

Well, we'll see. At least we'll get Torchwood to help us with the DW hiatus, that's more than I had dreamed for.
Now with all the news about Torchwood I can finally use it more often. It's scary how well Futurama quotes go with Doctor Who *g*

Yes, Torchwood in October I believe, Christmas Doctor Who special, and then onto next year. (The months after Christmas shall be very frustrating, mind)
