|11:57 pm - Essay woes|
I think Fate is conspiring to stop me from finishing my CCM essay.
No, seriously, I've been working on it over the last couple of days, in the hopes that I get it finished today (well, tonight), and thus have only a lab report to write up after Who tomorrow. And all was going quite well, I had some nice references, and I've only 350 words to go... and alas, I now cannot do any more for another two hours.
Because, ye olde internet quota for on-peak time got used up a few days ago. And the paper I want to get a quote from, so I can tie up all my themes together in a nice bow just happens to unavailable in a pdf file. And can only be available online. In scans from the ruddy journal. Which take ruddy hours to load on stupid dial-up.
So, I shall have to wait around until we go offpeak at 2am, and I get broadband back, so I can finish the damnable essay. At least I know what I want to write.
(Speaking of, is it wrong that my Media, Politics and Society used a reference from my CCM reader, and my CCM essay used a reference from my Media, Politics and Society reader? Because that amused me when I realised I'd done that).
Speaking of references, there's something terribly disturbing about a paper that in making a comparison between filmic and terrorist suspense techniques, talks about some Hitchcock movie in which apparently there's a scene in which there's a bomb, in a backpack, on a London Bus, which gets blown up.
And probably something even more disturbing that most of my key arguments come from this paper
You know, if the football overruns and there isn't Doctor Who to give me a brief distraction from this tomorrow morning, I shall be most unamused.
ETA: 2.50, and done. Editing can be tomorrow, now I shall go have sleepytime. And hopefully wake up to Doctor Who ready and waiting.
Current Mood: annoyed
