Well, that was an interesting little mini-explosion in fandom.

Now I think we're all well prepared for Human Nature.

You tell me. And meanwhile I'm engaged in a two-person flamewar over in the German part of the fandom... grrrr.

I am taking too much pride in that, I know.

Hmm - seems like I have slept through it (or are you talking about the Sun article thing?)

That, and the way it's being reacted to on certain forums.

The statement on the Freema site has settled things a bit.

I can imagine *headdesk*.

Thank goodness. I wonder if the Sun got ahold of a tiny bit of story information from somewhere and drew their own (very nasty and inappropriate) conclusions.

I'm ignoring the predominantly shippy ones, for sanity's sake.

I'm speculating on whether the search for Martha thing might be true or not - I can see how stupid internet gossip, combined with possibly true plot info about Martha not being around could prompt nasty ideas.

(Also, my own sources, though very quiet on such things, have said that there are big plans for next series - and a while back said there were interesting plans for Martha. I'm not sure if said interesting plans meant just the Saxon and her family to get to the Doctor stuff, or something more, though)

Heh. Same here.

I was thinking - maybe RTD's wants to create an event with a lot of emotional punch for the final episode - since neither the Doctor nor the companion are leaving this series (assuming the rumours are untrue, which I think they are). The Doctor losing Martha would definitely qualify, and the Christmas Special could revolve around him trying to get her back. I can't really see that going on in the fourth series though, but I could be wrong.

Well, the no comment stance is obviously trying to keep the ending a mystery, given that both Freema and David aren't confirmed, and they can't both be leaving. One or the other, maybe, but not both.

So they're playing the say as little as possible game.

I'm just waiting for a solid press release about who's going to be in the next series. While I'd live if Freema was only a one series companion, it doesn't feel like her story is over, at least not yet.

Though, I'm sure some rabid sections of the fandom were cheering loudly when this was posted.

And a big YAY for Human Nature tonight. I only hope it lives up to my expectations.

It depends on how it finishes if I am satisfied with one series - though the Search for Martha plot the Sun proposed could be quite interesting (so long as there is a conclusion that involves finding Martha, even if she chooses not to travel with him again).

And I have to admit I am curious as to how the batshipper contingent will react to the companion after Martha. Hate for still not being Rose, like for not being Martha, or what?

I could get behind a search for Martha plot too, as long as it doesn't drag on too long. Personally I think that'd get tiresome. Though I do admit it'd make a great plot for the Christmas special, or at least better than the ones we've been treated too in the past.

I have no idea how the batshippers will react if we get a new companion. I'm starting to think as long as DT's in the role of the Doctor, we'll always have fen thinking Rose needs to return, I'm sorry to say.
