Holy Impossible Planet, Batman!
Drakyndra, don't turn around... Is it wrong that the first thing I did after reading this comment was to check what was behind me (Absolutely nothing, as it so happens, but the thought still counts)? Indeed.
I'm hoping it's just a wrong number. It's not a private no, so if I wanted, I could call back.
If I wanted... There's a new SMS scam going around Vic, NSW and WA where SMS messages are sent threatening to kill you if you don't deposit a certain amount of money in a bank account ($5k, I think). If that's the message you got, call Crimestoppers. Nah, the bit I posted was the message in it's entirety. I'm not dumb enough to fall for stupid scams like that. (I actually got a Nigeran scammer spam email the other day. Only edited so that it was some Chinese bloke affected by the earthquake) WTF?! *hugs you* It's probably just some idiot kid doing a practical joke, but will you report it to the police any way? It's probably a wrong number - I seem to get a few of them.
And for now I'm just going to ignore it. If I get any more messages from the same number, then I'll do something about it. That is on a par with the phone calls we got about an impending tsunami. That was actually part of a marketing campaign thing, except 90% of people didn't hear that disclaimer. People have some odd, odd ideas about what makes for good marketing these days. ![[User Picture]](https://l-userpic.livejournal.com/76084902/791136) | From: | iko |

I would totally text back "I gonna get you first". I am not sure I want to actually want to contact this person, wrong number or not. Might be the start of a con... there's a memo going around about a scam where people get SMSed "I'm going to kill you" and "I've been hired to kill you - pay me $5000 and I won't"
If that happens - go to the police. They're trying to track down who's doing it. Well, I ignored the first message, and haven't gotten anything else from them. Dude. I too would probably call back and ask why. But then I'm perverse like that. I considered it. But decided that, just in case, it wasn't the smartest idea. Meep, that's a bit terrifying :o |
