|10:42 pm - There is something fundamentally wrong with the world right now|
There were Easter Eggs at the supermarket today.
Why were there Easter Eggs at the supermarket today?

Way too early.
I am living in a world gone mad.
Pretty sure I saw them just after NYE at Coles.
Because it's only two and a half months until Easter. I saw the first Xmas cookies in a supermarket in August last year, which was four months before Xmas, so the start for Easter seems to be overdue... </sarcasm>
I don't think I have words.

You guys have it all wrong. This is a good thing, the earlier they start with Easter, the earlier you have access to hot cross buns. Absurd though it may be, we don't question it, we encourage it, in the hopes of further extending the time during which we can eat hot cross buns.
...True, hot cross buns are a wonderfully tasty experience.

Dude, my local had easter eggs out on Boxing Day.
The hell is wrong with the world? *eats a cadbury cream egg*
That's what I thought. Clearly your local supermarket is LATE to the party, drakyndra
Should I be, like, complaining to someone?
Well, it's not like I was looking out for them then. (Not like I was looking out for them, now, I just happened to wander past the display...)
Preparation is half the battle! (I guess?) Or maybe they're leftovers from last year?
And I still have half my Christmas chocolate left.

Yeah, my place of work, they started taking down the Christmas decorations before noon on Christmas Eve so that they could start moving the Easter stuff in as soon as possible.
Of course, this meant that nobody had any idea what our opening hours were over the New Year's since they'd taken those signs down too but what the hey.
That doesn't sound particularly well planned at all.
I had that discussion with my husband at Target the other day. A woman was BUYING them too. All the Target employees were giving me knowing looks as I was saying 'it is January why the hell are there easter eggs in JANUARY?'
I can't see why you'd buy them. Unless you had a craving for Easter eggs or something.
Easter = Time after Christmas up through May.
(Note: The above may not be true)
So, the year is divided into seasons of Christmas, Easter and whatever the hell else?
